As a Development-Stage Investment Associate, you will complete investment due diligence on project development, commercial and technical risks. In addition, you will oversee aspects of the completion of remaining development through to the start of construction for the firm’s equity investments in development-stage for solar, wind, storage, and other green infrastructure projects in North America.


As an Associate, you will report to the Vice President of Development-Stage Investments. Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • assisting with technical and commercial due diligence – working directly with internal subject matter experts, external consultants, and internal and external counsel – related to development-stage project acquisitions/investments in areas including but not limited to:
    • land control, title, mineral rights, environmental studies, permitting, and interconnection
    • certain development and commercial agreements (real estate, title curative, tax abatements, interconnection, equipment supply, EPC, O&M, and off-take);
  • assisting with engagement of consultants to support due diligence and project development;
  • supporting oversight of development partners’ execution of various development work streams including but not limited to:
    • land control, title, mineral rights, environmental studies, permitting, and interconnection
    • negotiation of key project  agreements related to real estate, tax abatements, interconnection, equipment supply, EPC, O&M, and off-take;
  • creating and editing project development related aspects of presentations for both internal investment approvals and external project acquisition, financing and sell-down efforts;
  • coordinating aspects of lender and investor due diligence and documentation during construction debt and tax equity financings and project sell-down;
  • managing the creation, populating and updating of lender and investor data rooms.

You will identify and anticipate concerns in each investment at an early stage and be able to work with the Vice President of Development-Stage Investments, Deal Leads and key partners and stakeholders to find solutions, as well as opportunities, to create greater value for our team and our partners.

You will have 5 or more years of relevant experience in project development of large-scale solar and/or wind projects. Prior experience with project acquisitions, financings and divestitures, and working with JVs and partners on project development is preferred. A relevant academic degree, preferably in a technical field such as engineering, is required, and a financial qualification such as a MBA is a plus.
